Natural teething solutions.

Being a natural "freak" I wasn't going to give my baby ANYthing that is not natural for her teething. And the problem is that teething is something that goes on forever!! So we found a really great and REAL solution to that:
1. Baby Baltic amber teething necklace.  It can also help with conditions such as, ear ache, fevers and colds, eczema, asthma, acid reflux, irritability and sleeplessness. It work by releasing calming healing oils when worn next to baby’s warm skin. The oils are then absorbed into the blood stream and help to ease the pain associated with teething. Apparently the lighter the colour the better it works. You can find those in every health shop or online and eBay. PS its not for chewing!!!

2.An Allspice (also called Jamaica pepper, pepper, myrtle pepper, pimenta,or newspice, ) necklace is a quick and painless way to relieve teething symptoms of fever and crankiness and teeth will pop in faster. Allspice contains Tanin which is a natural ingredient that tightens the gums! You will need whole Allspice beads (found in the spice aisle of Indian food stores), dual-duty thread (or elastic) and a small needle. You can also add decorative beads or a clasp, but neither are necessary. Necklaces can be left on 24/7 and only need to be replaced every 3-4months! Boil the Allspice beads for 7 minutes, drain and string onto thread then tie or fasten around babies neck. You should see almost immediate results!
3. I just came accross another natural solution which is known also to provide a relief for eczema. Its a hazelwood necklace. I haven't got one for Aisha, but decided to get a necklace for myself as I have problems with eczema on my hand. I will let you know if it worked for me.
Hazelwood products are believed to help create an alkaline environment in your body which may help prevent and appease many of the symptoms caused by acidosis (being too acidic).
The use of hazelwood jewelry originated long ago when Aboriginal people discovered that they could put hazelwood chips on their babies’ necks to soothe teething pains. This lost art was revived only a decade ago when a few companies in Quebec, Canada (where the hazelwood trees grow indigenously) rediscovered the unique properties of hazelwood. Since then hazelwood has grown in popularity as more and more people have experienced its benefits. Most notably, Hazelwood has been able to help many people with skin issues such as eczema, providing a natural alternative to many of the more expensive, intensive, and messy treatments.
The hazelwood necklaces we sell are 100% natural and handmade from organically grown hazelwood trees.
How does hazelwood jewelry work? Acidity is a major component of the pain associated with a child's teething period. Hazelwood, being an alkaline wood, has the natural property of absorbing and neutralizing the body's acidity through contact with the skin. By doing so, the necklaces can also help with digestion, constipation, eczema, migraines, acid reflux, heart burn, nausea, arthritis, skin problems, etc. If you suffer from one of these issues, it is highly probable that you are suffering from an acidity imbalance, and hazelwood may be able to help you alleviate these symptoms in a natural way. CAUTION: They are made for wearing, NOT chewing. This is a supervised item. Always remove your necklace from baby when baby is sleeping or unattended. As an alternative, you may wish to wrap the necklace around your baby's ankle under a sleeper or socks, so that contact with the skin remains constant. We used to pin it to clothes with baby safety pin.

4. Instead of Paracetamol we give homoeopathic teething relief and this happened only once. These necklaces are doing a great job. We prefer Brauer products. Here is one : baby teething relief (Australia) and another natural pain and fever relief Little Fevers.

5. An effective natural teething relief is chamomile infused coconut oil. Babies love the taste of it and it stays on the gums better than most other remedies.

How to Make Natural Teething Gel:

Add 4 tablespoons of chamomile flowers to 1 cup of coconut oil (can adjust down if needed) and put in a glass jar that is placed in a small pot of water. I place a silicon mat between the pan and the jar to protect the jar.

Bring the water in the pan to a simmer and keep over low heat for several hours until the oil has taken on a yellowish color and chamomile smell. Carefully strain out the flowers using a cheesecloth and a strainer. Store in a wide-mouth jar.

For teething relief, rub on baby’s gums as often as needed for relief.

According to a new study, those infants who are given paracetamol could suffer allergies and asthma later on in their life
